Steampunk Pearly MegaCon 2012

My first wearing of the Steampunk Pearly costume. Sadly, George and one other photographer have the only shots I've seen so far of this. At some point I may get a higher res image, but this is all I have so far and I'm proud of this one.

Perhaps it is more accurate to call it Neo-Victorian, but whatever you call it, I had fun making it. There are almost 1,000 Mother-of-Pearl buttons sewn on to the skirt and corset so far. I made the cane by chopping off the top of a regular wooden cane, drilling, painting it and then attaching a brass filigree cap and MOP knob. The hat was made at a Tandy workshop and then trimmed with ribbons, feathers and MOP pendant piece. Closeups shots are in my folder somewhere.
